Chateau Ste. Michelle is a beautiful outdoor venue located in the heart of Woodinville, Washington. It's known for its picturesque setting, with stunning views of the Cascade Mountains, often with hot air balloons floating in the skies off in the distance. The winery has become a go-to spot for summer concerts, featuring a variety of headlining artists across different genres. On this particular evening, Jason Mraz was the star attraction, drawing a sold-out crowd of enthusiastic fans of all ages.
Before Mraz took the stage, the audience was treated to an energetic set from East Bay native Celisse. The singer-songwriter may not be a household name yet, but she's certainly one to watch. Her soulful voice and rousing guitar playing had everyone grooving along to her dynamic performance. Celisse wore a vibrant blue suit that matched her charismatic playing. Fans were moved to tears when Celisse set her guitar down for a powerful ballad about her father speaking about "Telling the truth, even if it's hard."
The DJ who warmed up the crowd, 9 Theory, was equally impressive. He got the audience up and moving before the main event with infectious beats and catchy sampling. He debuted two fantastic remixes of Mraz songs, which got fans cheering and amped for the show to begin.
As soon as Jason Mraz and His Superband of 8–10 rotating talented musicians stepped on stage, the crowd erupted in excitement. He opened with "Feel Good Too," and the cheers grew even louder. Mraz wore his signature fedora along with a fantastic, bold-colored, striped suit and a guitar to match. A large screen and vibrant lighting accompanied each song perfectly.
Their setlist included a mix of classic hits and newer songs, from "The Remedy (I Won't Worry)" to "Have It All." Mraz's easy-going stage presence and charisma had the entire audience engaged from start to finish. Mraz joked with the crowd before beginning "Lucky" by saying, "Colbie Caillat is not able to make it, but a special guest... Taylor Swift... who also couldn’t be here, BUT..." All jokes aside, band member and singer Chaska Potter took the mic to accompany Mraz, with each band member rocking a solo for the song. The energy never waned, and the crowd sang and danced along to nearly every word of every song.
Mraz and his broad ensemble ended the evening with "I'm Yours" and "Common Pleasure." The night was nothing short of magical; the crowd was a mix of old and young, and the sound quality was excellent. Nothing speaks to a perfect Seattle summer evening like getting a little wine drunk under the setting sun with the scent of food vendors floating through the air as Jason Mraz and his Superband serenaded the crowd.
All in all, the Jason Mraz concert at Chateau Ste. Michelle was a night to remember. Make sure to catch The Mystical Magical Rhythmical Radical Ride tour when it rolls through town; trust us, you won’t regret it!
